The Gospel and Grain Mustard

"Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, 'Move from here to there and there to spend, and nothing shall be impossible." (Mt 17:20)

"The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed, which a man took him and sowed in his field: Which indeed is the least of all seeds, but growing, is the largest of plants and becomes a tree , so that the birds of the air come and nest in its branches. " (Mt 13, 31.32).

The mustard is a vegetable, and, unlike the other quite measure up to 4 meters. Plant can take almost anything: leaves, flowers, grains. There are species of mustards: white, brown and black. Jesus, in his parable, referred to as black mustard grain is the most common in the eastern region. Energy for their properties, digestive, antibacterial and help the blood to clot vegetable is still widely used in medicine. In ancient times the Romans used at least 40 types of medicines made from mustard. Some Jewish communities have used it as "bitter herb" on Easter.

Mustard seeds are harvested before they ripen, dry to survive from 4 to 8 years maintaining its germination. In India, the seeds give rise to an edible oil. The oil of mustard has antibiotic properties, it also contains peroxidase, widely used in molecular biology in amplification and detection antibodies, among many things.

The flour made from mustard seeds serves to prepare the famous sinopismos-poultices that are flocking certain amount of blood at the site where they are applied.

Mustard seeds are the smallest existing measuring 1 to 2 millimeters in diameter, however, give rise to greater plant of the family vegetables.

The strong taste of mustard tends to overlap with other foods when mixed.

FAITH, THE KINGDOM AND THE GRAIN OF MUSTARD
Like the tiny seeds generate leafy vegetables, little faith produces great results. As the many birds that take shelter in the shade of eating vegetables and seek their seeds, many lives, hungry for relief, seeking comfort in the United feeds on the Word.

Impressed me the fact mustard seeds retain their ability to germinate for up to eight years, linking the fact with faith, as did Jesus himself, means that there is a maturation time between believing and happening. Reminds me of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Sara, Ana and many others who waited confident for years until they saw the miracle performed.

The antibiotic properties contained in mustard seeds can compare the effects of faith in the believer's life: Faith sustains the mood even when the living reality shows otherwise. Antibiotics fight bacteria and viruses that make the body sick.

Both the leaves and grains of mustard have therapeutic capabilities that act on the lungs, bronchi and about injuries, helping in healing. So is the kingdom, so is faith: They give life, heal the deep wounds of being.

Finally, I found several cooking sites making the observation: "The strong taste of mustard can overlap the other foods, when mixed together." So is the kingdom, so is faith: "Having been sown, grows, and becomes the greatest of all herbs."
