The Law of God

The law of God contains ten commandments. The Bible says in Exodus 20:1-1 "And God spoke all these words, saying: I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.

[1] Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
[2] Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or on earth beneath or in the waters under the earth. Not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of those who hate Me, but showing mercy unto thousands of them that I love and keep my commandments.
[3] Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
[4] Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God. You shall not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, nor thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
[5] Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
[6] Thou shalt not kill.
[7] Do not commit adultery.
[8] Thou shalt not steal.
[9] Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
[10] You shall not covet your neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing of thy neighbor. What is the basic principle of the law of God?

The Bible says in Romans 13:10 "He that loveth his neighbor does you no harm. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law. "God's law is summed up in love. The Bible says in Matthew 22:37-40 "Jesus replied: 'Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the great and first commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. "Jesus helps us to clarify our relationship with God's law. The Bible says in Matthew 5:17-18 "Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I came not to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass away, in no wise pass from the law one i or one tittle, till all be fulfilled. "God's law offers direction, not justification. The Bible says in Galatians 2:15-16 "We who are Jews by nature and not sinners of the Gentiles, yet knowing that a man is not justified by works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Christ Jesus to be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the law;. because by works of the law shall no flesh be justified "It is our duty to obey the law of God. The Bible says in Ecclesiastes 12:13 "This is the end of the speech, all has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man" What is the relationship between law and sin ? The Bible says in 1 John 3:4 "Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also lives in rebellion, and sin is lawlessness." It is necessary to keep all the commandments? The Bible says in James 2:10-11 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point has become guilty of all. For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law. "We can know God without keeping the commandments? The Bible says in 1 John 2:4-6 "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him verily is perfected God's love. And hereby we know that we are in him:. Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did "What is the purpose of the law? The Bible says in Romans 3:20 "Therefore by the deeds of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight. Because what is the law is the knowledge of sin" we saved by keeping the law? The Bible says in Romans 3:27-31 "Where is boasting then? Was excluded. By what law? Of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law. Is God the God of Jews only? It is also of the Gentiles? The Gentiles also, certainly, if there is one God, who by faith shall justify the circumcision, and also for the uncircumcised through faith. Do we then nullify the law through faith? By no means we establish the law. "
